With all the rather unkind April Fools stories floating around (the alleged new album from Boards Of Canada being the most painful), it may take some persuading to get you to listen to this hour-long conversation between Thom Yorke and the hugely splendid Alec Baldwin.
Discussing everything from Atoms For Peace, analog production, mentoring and Yorke’s “bad painting trips”, Baldwin and Yorke seem to genuinely get along without ever letting the conversation drift into mutual back slapping. Throughout the hour Baldwin manages to pry out some truly fascinating nuggets of insight including how Yorke approaches the technical aspect of singing as well as his working relationships.
So, with that said, let’s just sit back with a massive cup of tea and get lost in the dulcet tones of the Alpha Baldwin and his fascinating guest on the latest episode of Baldwin’s ‘Here’s The Thing‘ show on WNYC.
